Our Girl Crush: Miss Grass

Oct 06, 2021

A brand we are obsessed with is Miss Grass , a female owned and operated cannabis brand that is fighting the stigma around cannabis and instead bringing its culture, history, and science to the forefront. These boss ladies have built their weed brand around self care, impactful philanthropy, and honest conversations about marijuana. Hence, our obsession!

Whether you’re a professional stoner or new to the game, Miss Grass offers “weed for the times.” These fearless and independent queens are leading a movement to make cannabis accessible and acceptable through their educated online magazine, highly curated marketplace and namesake product line.

The Boss Babe Herself: CEO Kate Miller

Kate Miller has worked in the cannabis industry since 2008 when she was in college in California. While working as a budtender (badass job title!) Kate saw the business opportunities in the inevitable legalization of weed. Her strong belief in the plant’s powers and destigmatizing cannabis consumption empowered her to pursue her business full time starting in 2017. In 2018, Miss Grass was launched in Venice, Ca.

High off the thrill of being part of the “first multi-billion dollar industry with women at the helm,” Kate sets the example that the industry should be led by female leaders exhibiting feminine traits of compassion, inclusiveness, collaboration and empathy.

Right now the legal recreational marijuana industry is in its infancy making it the perfect time to make changes and instill good values. Kate believes we can change the fabric of society by having open conversations about weed, and we couldn’t agree more!

Miss Grass’ Community Impact

Social justice runs through the roots and veins of all things Miss Grass. 1% of every Miss Grass purchase goes to the nonprofit of the consumer’s choosing. They believe in more than just transparently sharing their values, but putting their money where their mouth is. Nonprofits you can choose from include the Women’s Prison Association, Last Prisoner Project, Planned Parenthood and LES Ecology Center.

Miss Grass has partnered with social reform and environmental organizations to support and build up an equitable industry, eradicate the ridiculous stigma surrounding weed, and make cannabis accessible for all. These organizations are doing amazing things: National Bail Out , Last Prisoner Project , Trans Lifeline , Success Centers , The Hood Incubator , and Cage-Free Cannabis

Ladybug Farms

Located in Monterey, Ladybug Farms is Miss Grass’ cultivation partner. This family-owned farm has been around since 1947, originally growing flowers in their controlled, environmentally conscious greenhouses. In 2018, they transitioned from flowers to flower. It’s a very common trend for these sustainable greenhouses to switch to or incorporate cannabis into their harvest. Ladybug Farms is run on values that align with Miss Grass which, in turn, aligns with our values here at Ecomeds
