Celebrate National S’mores Day with these Cannabis-Infused Chocolate Brands

Who doesn’t love a good s’more? Did you know that the first record of a s’more dates back to 1927 and is found in a Girl Scouts handbook? Originally called some mores, now they are a tasty campfire treat that almost everybody loves! But what could make this already delectable sweet snack even better? You know it: cannabis-infused chocolate for that extra little lift.

Heavenly.

We’ve got 4 of the best cannabis-chocolatiers around for you to try out for your next night around the fire! (And another sweet little potent surprise you probably haven’t heard of at the end…)

1) Valhalla Confectionary

These wonderfully lifting and smooth-tasting chocolates come in 2 flavors: milk and dark.

That’s it, that’s all you get – because that’s all you need. Both of these 100mg bars are made with premium family-owned Guittard chocolate. They come in 34% milk and 54% dark and the dark flavor also happens to be vegan.

With 100mg of THC and <2mg of CBD these golden-wrapped bars are designed for flight.

Expect an effect that’s been described in a few places as uplifting and euphoric. These make a great start for National S’mores Day – nothing fancy, just a solid, delicious simple chocolate bar with a twist.

2) Kiva Confections

If you normally prefer Godiva over Hershey, Kiva Confections likely have the decadence that you are after. This confectionery is doing it big.

They are all about sustainably-sourced cocoa and offer a stunning array of natural flavors.

Expect to taste fine chocolate mixed with different berries, coffee, espresso and toffee – they even have a churro flavored bar! It’s got to be worth a try! What about peppermint or midnight mint?

If the flavor profiles aren’t enough to tantalize you on their own, consider this: they also have a wide assortment of cannabinoid profiles. You can have a bar with CBN, or 5:1 CBD-high chocolate as well as the usual assortment of THC.

3) Defonce Chocolatiers

The real story with Defonce is their chocolate. They state explicitly on their website that they are not a cannabis company. Imagine the world’s finest chocolate. Now add premium cannabis – that’s it. They source their chocolate from a manufacturer in Belgium that has been operating for over a century.

In that time, they say that they have mastered the art of bean selection and traditional roasting. They are also the first in the region to have begun sourcing sustainable and ethical cocoa which they use to make bars and more.

Every bar comes with 100mg THC extract, but they do have some variety in their bars, bites (coming soon) and squares. If you are looking for the finest chocolate and are not too picky about your cannabis content, then Defonce Chocolatiers is a great choice for a decadent s’more. Is anybody else getting hungry?

4) Papa & Barkley

In contrast to Defonce, Papa and Barkley began as a medicinal-use cannabis company and now makes several chocolates alongside a line of other cannabis products. The Cannabis-infused Releaf Chocolates come in a few flavors including milk chocolate, pomegranate dark chocolate, and dark chocolate & sea salt (mmm).

Their chocolates are fair trade certified and are made with solventless, fresh-pressed rosin. It comes with 100mg per bar, but they break into 5mg pieces, so you can get a smaller amount if you are new or more sensitive or would simply like to be less stoned.

The brand story here is sweet – Papa is the head of the family for whom the business is named and Barkley was his faithful dog. They named the company after the two of them because they felt no better way to symbolize the loyalty they have towards quality, than the loyalty the farmer and his dog shared.  This is a quality product that you can feel great supporting.

5) Mellows

Author of cannabis cookbook ‘Edibles, Small Bites for the Modern Cannabis Kitchen’, Stephanie Hua is also the founder of Mellows – and she is going to blow your mind.

If you’ve been keeping count, you’ll know that this is the bonus round. In other words, not cannabis-infused chocolate, but marshmallow! That’s right, the other sweet element to a s’more can pack a hit that lets you level up as well. Hua’s company Mellows was designed around her lovely looking, tasty and low-dose marshmallows.

There is a care that goes into these handcrafted marshmallows and they not only dose nicely and taste phenomenal – they are beautiful to look at. They are designed as a pleasant experience from first sight to last bite and the lingering, lovely effects thereafter.

S’more S’mores

Looking to make your National S’mores day cannabis infused s’mores even more special? We’ve got you! Here are a couple of fun and fancy s’mores recipes to try out:

Dark Chocolate Strawberry Cannabis-Infused S’mores

This is a simple, yet profound twist on the classic. Select your cannabis-infused dark chocolate of choice from the list provided (or anywhere you find it, of course). Make yourself a standard graham cracker s’more (sure, use Mellows marshmallows for an extra hit if you dare!).

Here is the twist – take a slice or two of strawberries and put them in too – against the chocolate. Wrap in tin foil and bake or cook on the fire. Use this one again on Valentine’s Day or your anniversary, too.

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cannabis S’mores

Beat ½ cup of sugar and ¼ cup of brown sugar until it becomes fluffy. Add in an egg, 1 ¼ cups of flour, 1 tsp. of baking powder and ¼ tsp. of salt and mix.

Place a little more than half the dough in the bottom of an 8×8 inch baking dish lined with parchment paper. Put your favorite THC- or CBD-infused chocolate bars in and create 1 layer, then melt ½ cup of peanut butter in the microwave (20 – 30 seconds should do).

Drizzle the peanut butter over the chocolate for another layer.

Next, take a jar of marshmallow cream (7oz.) and make that the next layer. Roll out the remaining dough and place on top (gently) and place in the oven. Bake at 350 degrees for

30 minutes and prepare to get baked yourself!

We hope you enjoy these chocolates and s’more recipes as much as we think you will. Have a nice flight!
